Parents are a valuable resource for our school and are most welcome to participate in school life. We believe that parents have an important role to play in their child’s education and can help with learning both at home and at school.
The parents at Mickleham Primary School have a long history of keen involvement in the education of their children.
There are a variety of ways in which parents can be involved including:
- Representing Parents on the School Council
Participating in Parents & Friends club activities
Working closely with individual class teachers in a variety of classroom activities
Helping on excursions, at barbecues, sporting activities etc
All parents who wish to be involved will require a current Working with Children Check. The card if free for volunteers and applications can be made online at https://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au and at Australia Post.
You will also need to receive a parent induction. Please see the Assistant Principal or Principal should you wish to become involved.
