This year for Book Week, we have managed to secure a published illustrator to come and speak to the children! (Friday 29th August)
Ben Wood is the illustrator of best-selling crime-fighting series Real Pigeons with Andrew McDonald, which is currently being adapted by Nickelodeon for the screen. He has illustrated over fifty books for kids, which include the popular graphic novel series Hello Twigs, and picture books Give Me a Home Among the Gumtrees and Blast Off!
The sessions will focus on how to use visual storytelling (such as comics) and how students can use drawings to help problem solve.
The company the school has booked the illustrator through has just announced that they have teamed up with Readings bookstores. This is a great chance for families to buy some books at discounted prices. The catch is that the book must be written by one of the following authors.
