School Environment

Mickleham Primary School conducts learning in a very natural and attractive environment, including the following:

Learning Environments:

  • A brand-new Administration & Specialist building
  • Two brand new learning buildings, each with eight classrooms, a central learning area, two withdrawal rooms and indoor toilets in each
  • Two double portable classrooms
  • A portable classroom for indoor Physical Education classes and OSHC
  • A portable outdoor toilet block

Our buildings have been named for species of plant found in the local area:

  • Banksia – Administration/Specialist building
  • Bottle Brush – Grade Prep & Grade 1/2 & Junior Tutoring
  • Wattle – Grade 3/4, 5/6 & Senior Tutoring
  • Red Gum – 2 x double portable classrooms – Assemblies, Grade 6 program
  • Melaleuca – Multipurpose Room (MPR), Canteen & Toilet block
  • Murnong (yam daisy) – Bluestone Building – Performing Arts

Additional outdoor spaces to be developed in 2024:

  • Learning/yarning circles
  • Large outdoor learning area with shade sail protection
  • Peer Mediation/Friendship Tree ottoman
  • Large oval
  • Senior playground
  • Junior playground
  • Sand-pit
