Grade 3/4
This term the 3/4 students are starting off their Inquiry unit by looking at how the Earth, Sun and Moon exist in the same space. To demonstrate how they all rotate around one another, we made some models. Students were wondering where the moon is during the day if we cannot see it, but we know it is still there. There was a lot of discussion about how the earth is moving so fast that we don’t even feel it.
As part of our 3/4 sport program, students had the opportunity to suggest the sports they would like to participate in. We spent time brainstorming ideas and voting on what sports we want to play this term. Mr Petersen set us some push up and sit up challenges. The students were definitely better than the teachers. Starting this Thursday we will head outside for a session each week to participate in these sports. Please ensure that your child has their drink bottle and hat for these activities. During these sessions and our Ready to Learn sessions, students are also developing their understanding of cooperative play and losing gracefully.
