STUDENT ENGAGEMENT
Class Representatives
Grades 1-4s have been holding Class Representative selections in their rooms over the past few weeks. This has been a free-choice activity, with students writing and practising their speeches in their own time. They have offered to be helpful and kind to their classmates in this role. Their role involves keeping the class informed about school activities; attending a leadership meeting twice each term; holding surveys about the students’ ideas and opinions; and sharing the learning that is happening in their class with the school.
We had many candidates in all the classes – which shows the keen interest and value our students have in being a leader in our school. Congratulations for standing up and having a go – that’s what it’s all about! We will share the results in our next newsletter once all candidates have been announced at Week 9 Assembly.
STUDENT WELLBEING
PE UNIFORM for WINTER:
The cold has finally hit us – and hit a few of us harder than others. Please ensure your child has:
- a school jacket/jumper LABELLED WITH THEIR NAME- absolutely NO hoodies are to be worn at school
- track pants
- warm socks (and an extra pair in their bag for rainy days)
- safe joggers/sneakers (see note below)
- maybe a beanie
We use the outdoor spaces when the weather is DRY. But it is cold whilst we get there, and cold until we have played a fun warm-up game. When it rains, we do health and safety lessons inside as part of the Victorian PE Curriculum.
FINGERNAILS: Please remove any false-nails during the school week, as per our uniform policy. These are dangerous when playing our PE games that require catching items, playing tag games and using racquets etc. Some students are scared to participate because of these nails.
