Student Wellbeing and Engagement
Class Representatives
Grades 1-4s have been holding Class Representative selections in their rooms over the past few weeks. This has been a free-choice activity, with students writing and practising their speeches in their own time. They have offered to be helpful and kind to their classmates in this role. Their role involves keeping the class informed about school activities; attending a leadership meeting twice each term; holding surveys about the students’ ideas and opinions; and sharing the learning that is happening in their class with the school.
We had many candidates in all the classes – which shows the keen interest and value our students have in being a leader in our school. Congratulations for standing up and having a go – that’s what it’s all about!
Congratulations to the following students on their new leadership roles:
1/2A Lylah H 3/4A Oakley F 5/6A Lylah F
1/2B Matthew A 3/4B Haadi K 5/6B Noora MH
1/2C Meryem E 3/4C Peter A 5/6C Jeromino KG

Their role involves keeping the class informed about school activities; attending a leadership meeting twice each term; holding surveys about the students’ ideas and opinions; and sharing the learning that is happening in their class with the school.
CERES Student Leadership for Sustainability Incursion
Student leaders were selected across the senior school to participate in this full-day program. Adrian from CERES guided students through the project design process to consider the importance of sustainability in our school.
Thank you to Hume City Council for funding this opportunity. This helps highlight the important connections between education and our local community. Student leaders have already been running a project in the classrooms to recycle our paper and cardboard waste without contamination.
Interschool Sports
Congratulations to all 5/6s for their participation in the Winter games. Our school was widely congratulated for their behaviour, sportsmanship and enjoyment by teachers from other schools. Our students improved their skills and understanding of the games they played over each week. They also showed tremendous resilience, as they had many defeats along the way – but they never gave up their energy and enthusiasm. That’s true sportsmanship!
An extra thank you goes out to some valuable parent helpers! Caitlin Campbell for umpiring netball – what a great help! And also Jason Jones for supporting the AFL teams in their games each week. Thank you also to the families who were able to get to some of the games and support the students.
The whole cohort is celebrating the success of the Mixed AFL 9s Team – as they are the undefeated Winter District Champions. CONGRATULATIONS to you all! They will be representing the Craigieburn North District in the Woodlands Championship first week in Term 3, playing a Gala Day Round Robin.
